Weekly Funding Roundup for July Third Week[18th July - 22nd July]

The month of June was dominated by Bengaluru startups, including the homegrown startups outperforming themselves. Moving on to the third week of July, the charts saw new names on it. July third week saw 29 Indian startup businesses acquiring finance, with 24 of them receiving a total of around $138 million. Niyo and AppViewX raised the most, a total of $50 million, $30 million, and $30 million, respectively. 

Among all these, the notable thing is that around 33 homegrown startups collected a mammoth total of  $461 million which says a lot about smart and talented minds all around.  

Growth/Late-Stage Deals

Among the only 2 growth and late-stage startups that have collected funds, Niyo’s $30 million round and SaaS startup AppViewX’s $20 million Series B round topped the charts.

Early-stage deals 

27 startups have successfully raised funds in the early-stage agreements, including five undisclosed rounds. Healthtech startup Eka Care topped the list with a $15 million Series A round. Drone startup EndureAir Systems and health tech startup Fitterfly are present on the list too.

Fintrackr’s data indicates that Bengaluru topped the charts again after dominating the previous month and half of July, with 16 Bengaluru-based startups raising funds adding up to $100.66 million, which is 73.12 % of the total funding. Delhi-NCR-based startups weren’t far behind on the line, raising $10.75 million across 4 deals. SaaS startups topped the charts in terms of the number of deals as startups in this space raised $21.1 million across 4 deals. Fintech, ed-tech, D2C brands, agritech, health tech, and food tech startups followed them on the list.

Acquisitions this week

Apart from the numerous fundraisings, there were a couple of notable acquisitions too. The list includes the acquisition of edtech platform Harappa Education by upGrad, Omuni by Shiprocket, Syntizen by M2P Fintech and Flinkhub by Hesa.
